Job summary

Sutherland Shire Council is seeking a Financial Accountant to join the Financial Services unit, focusing on accounting standards compliance, asset accounting, treasury management and taxation. You will work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure accurate reporting of Council assets and investments.

You will oversee the investment portfolio, manage loans and leases, and provide strategic banking and treasury advice in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in accounting, commerce, or a related discipline.
• CPA or CA accreditation (or nearing completion).
• Proven experience in financial accounting, asset accounting, treasury management, and taxation.
• Experience with enterprise financial systems and engaging with external stakeholders.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
• Advanced proficiency in financial systems and analytical software.
