Job summary

Employment Hero is hiring a Financial Accountant to join the Financial Control team and shape accurate financial reporting, automation, and internal controls from a remote-first base. You will own month-end close, balance sheet substantiation, and variance analysis while driving AI-enabled improvements across the finance stack.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance or related discipline.
• CA/CPA qualified, or near completion.
• 3+ years of experience in a Financial or Management Accountant role.
• Hands-on experience with NetSuite and Zuora (or similar ERP/billing systems) highly regarded.
• Strong Excel and Google Sheets skills and comfort reconciling data across multiple systems.
• Proactive, process-improvement mindset – comfortable identifying and implementing better ways of working.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to train and support less experienced team members.
• Curiosity about AI and technology, and an interest in applying it to finance and control processes.

Responsibilities

• Own month-end close processes, including revenue reconciliations and usage-based reporting and analysis for service providers.
• Own balance sheet reconciliations and substantiation across your areas of responsibility, ensuring accuracy and audit-readiness ahead of monthly, quarterly and annual reporting.
• Investigate and explain variances against budget and prior period, providing commentary to the Finance Manager.
• Review and post credit requests to support the broader accounts receivable function.
• Maintain and help implement the finance tech stack, lead AI-driven improvements to controls, and take on focused project work as required.
• Partner with IT, Marketing and other operational teams to ensure accurate cost allocation, accruals and spend reporting.
• Train, upskill and support the wider finance team.
