Nearmap in Sydney seeks a Senior Accounting Manager to own global financial accounting for Technology, Engineering, Product and GCO divisions. You’ll partner with Global Business Partners to keep data accurate and provide insights that drive performance.

You’ll oversee month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, fixed assets, P&L analysis, intercompany activity, and IFRS compliance, mentoring junior staff and driving process improvements across Netsuite, FloQast and Concur.

Formación

• Tertiary accounting/commerce degree with CPA or CA (or near completion).
• 2–3 years in accounting, ideally tech/SaaS or Big 4/T2.
• Strong IFRS knowledge and financial reporting experience.
• Excel to an advanced level; experience with large accounting systems.

Responsabilidades

• Own month-end close for global divisions with timely reporting.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and resolve items promptly.
• Maintain fixed asset register including depreciation and disposals.
• Analyze P&L and provide variance insights for sign-off.
• Review intercompany transactions, vendor bills, and expense reporting.
• Support IFRS 16 lease accounting and intercompany reconciliations.
• Assist with annual reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and audits.
• Lead finance systems projects (Netsuite, FloQast, Concur) and drive process improvements.

Job Description

Reporting to our Accounting Manager, you’ll own the financial accounting for Nearmap global Technology, Engineering, Product, and GCO divisions. You’ll partner closely with our Global Business Partners to keep financial data accurate, and bring meaningful insight and recommendations that help track performance and keep the business aligned. You’ll bring strong technical accounting knowledge to interpret standards and build the workpapers that keep us fully compliant, and you’ll mentor and support junior team members as they grow.

• Own the month-end close for our global divisions, including accruals, and deliver to a strict month-end timetable.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations in FloQast and resolve reconciling items promptly.
• Maintain the Group’s consolidated Fixed Asset Register, including capitalisation, depreciation and disposals.
• Review divisional P&L results and provide meaningful variance analysis to support monthly sign-off.
• Review global vendor bills, purchase orders, credit card statements, and expense reports for accuracy and timeliness.
• Review lease agreements and maintain lease schedules in line with IFRS 16 and reconcile intercompany transactions.
• Review and lodge BAS, FBT, PAYG instalments, and payroll tax returns accurately and on time.
• Contribute to the annual financial reporting and audit process, and support budgeting and forecasting with trend analysis.
• Play an active role in finance systems projects (Netsuite, FloQast, Concur) and drive process improvements and automation.
• Mentor and support the development of your direct report and other junior team members.

Qualifications

• A tertiary qualification in accounting, business, or commerce, with a CPA or CA qualification (or close to completion).
• 2 - 3years’ experience in an accounting role, preferably witha Tech / SaaS firm or Big 4 / Tier 2 Accounting firm
• Technical accounting skills, with knowledge of IFRS 15, multi-currency accounting, intercompany transactions, transfer pricing, or acquisition accounting viewed favourably.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills, and experience with mid-to-large accounting systems such as Netsuite and Concur.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain financial and compliance requirements to non-finance stakeholders.
• Excellent time management and strong problem-solving skills, with a track record of delivering to deadlines.
