Job summary

Fusion Careers is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join a growing business in Sydney. This hands-on role covers day-to-day accounting, month-end, reporting, payroll, reconciliations and compliance.

You will work with the finance team and senior stakeholders to provide accurate financial information while supporting process improvements and systems enhancements. Strong Xero and GST skills are essential for success.

Qualifications

• 4 years' experience in an all-round Financial Accounting role.
• Tertiary qualifications in Accounting - essential.
• Strong experience using Xero.
• Solid understanding of month-end processes and financial reporting.
• Experience with GST and Australian tax compliance.
• Strong Excel skills, including complex spreadsheets and reconciliations.
• Good understanding of intercompany accounting and financial processes.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Managing day-to-day accounting functions.
• Preparing month-end reconciliations, reporting and financial information.
• Preparing and posting General Ledger journals.
• Managing banking and monthly bank reconciliations.
• Preparing monthly and quarterly reporting packs.
• Providing financial analysis and insights to the business.
• Supporting the maintenance and development of accounting systems.
• Processing payroll and reconciling payroll journals.
• Assisting with Accounts Payable and payment processes.
• Preparing and lodging BAS and IAS reports.
• Assisting with sales commission calculations.
• Supporting tax and audit requirements.
• Assisting with budgets, forecasts and variance analysis.
• Supporting statutory financial statements and audit schedules.
• Preparing documentation and responding to auditor requests.

Financial Accountant | Broad, Hands-On Role | Great Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Financial Accountant to join a growing and dynamic business in Sydney. This is a broad, hands‑on position where you will be involved across day‑to‑day accounting, month‑end, reporting, payroll, reconciliations, compliance and financial analysis.
