Job summary

Stone Recruitment is seeking a Senior Financial Accountant for an established Australian services business based in Fairfield. You will support accurate financial reporting, month-end close, statutory compliance, fixed assets and reconciliations, with a focus on process improvement and robust controls.

Qualifications

• CA/CPA/ACCA qualification or equivalent essential.
• 3–5+ years of financial accounting experience.
• Strong month-end, GL reconciliations and BAS exposure.
• Advanced Excel and confident accounting/ERP system skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare month-end journals, results and reconciliations.
• Maintain fixed assets, capex records and depreciation journals.
• Prepare BAS, GST, PAYG and assist with FBT compliance.

About The Role

Reporting to the Group Financial Controller, you will support accurate financial reporting, month-end close, statutory compliance, fixed assets, reconciliations, controls and ongoing process improvement.

Duties

• Prepare month-end journals, results and reconciliations
• Maintain fixed assets, capex records and depreciation journals
• Prepare BAS, GST, PAYG and assist with FBT compliance
• Support external audit, financial statements and reporting
• Improve accounting processes, controls and ERP reporting

Skills & Experience

• CA, CPA or ACCA qualified with relevant tertiary studies
• 3 to 5+ years financial accounting experience
• Strong month-end, GL reconciliation and BAS exposure
• Advanced Excel and confident accounting/ERP system skills
• Transport, logistics, waste or operational sector experience valued
