Job description

Financial Accountant - Investment Management

This is more than a traditional financial accounting role. Working closely with the Financial Controller, you’ll take ownership of financial and statutory reporting, trust accounting and fund accounting, while having the opportunity to challenge existing processes and introduce smarter ways of working.

The team is looking for someone with strong technical accounting fundamentals and a forward-thinking mindset — someone who questions the status quo, embraces technology and sees opportunities to improve processes through AI, automation and innovation.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Prepare management and statutory financial reporting across the organisation and its investment funds.
  • Undertake trust accounting and fund accounting activities, ensuring accurate financial records and reporting.
  • Prepare and review statutory financial statements across multiple investment funds.
  • Review listed and unlisted investment valuations, ensuring compliance with relevant policies.
  • Work closely with outsourced fund administrators to maintain reporting accuracy and effective controls.
  • Manage month-end activities, financial controls and external reporting requirements.
  • Coordinate external audits and liaise with auditors, custodians, investors and internal stakeholders.
  • Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, improve reporting and strengthen financial controls.
  • Explore the use of AI, automation and emerging technologies to reduce manual processes and improve efficiency.
  • Contribute to projects that enhance fund oversight, systems and broader finance operations.
