Job summary

Richard Lloyd Recruitment – Sydney CBD NSW is seeking a Financial Accountant to join a boutique funds manager. The role sits in a four-person finance team and reports to the CFO, focusing on consolidated reporting, month-end close, and compliance duties.

You will manage group consolidation, monthly/quarterly management reporting, assist with statutory audits, payroll, AP, BAS/IAS, and collaborate with Investment Managers on budgets and forecasts. Experience in funds is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in Financial Services, particularly funds.
• Post-degree qualification such as CA or CPA.
• Experience in full-function Financial Accounting including tax.
• Comfortable working in a smaller business.

Responsibilities

• Perform group consolidation across group entities.
• Produce monthly and quarterly management reports with variance analysis.
• Support annual statutory audit for group financials.
• Oversee daily banking and payment runs.
• Participate in Accounts Payable activities.
• Run monthly payroll, including onboarding/offboarding.
• Prepare general journals and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Manage month-end close and balance sheet closings.
• Prepare BAS, IAS, payroll tax, FBT, and other returns.
• Collaborate with Investment Managers on budgets and forecasts, plus process improvements.

The Role

Reporting to the CFO, and sitting within a finance team of four, this Financial Accounting role will primarily be tasked to:

• Perform group consolidation activities across group entities.

• Produce monthly and quarterly management reporting, including trend and variance analysis.

• Support the annual statutory audit process for group financial statements.

• Control daily banking activities and oversee preparation of payment runs.

• Provide support across Accounts Payable activities as required.

• Run monthly payroll processes, including onboarding and offboarding administration.

• Prepare general journals and complete key balance sheet and GL reconciliations.

• Manage month-end close processes and deliver balance sheet reconciliations.

• Prepare and lodge compliance obligations including BAS, IAS, payroll tax, FBT and other statutory returns.

• Partner with Investment Managers on portfolio support (budgets, cash flow forecasts, variance analysis) and drive ad hoc finance projects (process/system improvements, AI efficiencies, compliance savings, position papers, reporting).
