Job summary

DBG Health Pty is hiring a Financial Accountant for a 12-month fixed-term contract. You will work with the Beauty Finance team to deliver monthly results, maintain policies, support compliance, and contribute to a clean audit outcome.

You will handle local and international entities, balance sheet reconciliations, and partner with various stakeholders to drive process improvements and accurate financial reporting.

Qualifications

• Must have 3+ years' experience as a Financial Accountant or similar role.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance/Commerce; CPA/CA preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills for large data analysis and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Deliver month-end results with journal posting, reporting, and accounting for local and international entities.
• Maintain key accounting processes: inventory provisions, revaluations, fixed assets, freight capitalization, FX revaluations.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations, investigate variances, resolve issues.
• Prepare monthly financial reports and support GST and audit activities.
• Collaborate with AP/AR, Supply Chain, and other stakeholders to resolve queries.
• Contribute to process improvements and ad hoc reporting as required.

About The Role

The Financial Accountant will work collaboratively with the Beauty Finance team to deliver our Finance plans and objectives for our core portfolio, MCoBeauty, Nude by Nature & Poni Cosmetics. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract role.

You will, along with other Finance team members, prepare and report monthly financial results, maintain and follow policies and procedures, support compliance obligations, and contribute to a clean audit outcome.

This role supports accurate, timely financial reporting and plays a key role in maintaining financial integrity, driving process improvements, and partnering with stakeholders across the business.

Role & Responsibilities

• Deliver accurate month-end results within agreed timeframes, including journal preparation, reporting, and financial accounting activities for local and international entities.
• Prepare and maintain key accounting processes, including inventory provisions, inventory revaluations, fixed assets, freight capitalisation, and foreign exchange revaluations.
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations, investigate variances, and resolve accounting issues to ensure the accuracy of financial records.
• Prepare monthly financial reports and support compliance activities, including GST reporting and audit requirements.
• Partner with Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Supply Chain, and other stakeholders to resolve finance-related queries and reconciliations.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, maintain finance policies and procedures, and provide ad hoc reporting and analysis as required.

Skills & Experience

• 3+ years' experience as a Financial Accountant, ideally within FMCG, cosmetics, retail, grocery, or distribution environments.
• CPA or CA qualified (or working towards completion) with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including large data analysis, PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, and financial reporting.
• Strong month-end accounting experience, including journals, reconciliations, accruals, financial reporting, and audit support.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate and resolve complex accounting issues independently.
• Experience with ERP systems and reporting tools, coupled with excellent stakeholder management skills and a continuous improvement mindset.
