Job summary

Northfleet is seeking a Systems Accountant to own and optimise the finance systems, primarily the Odoo ERP, ensuring accurate reporting and strong internal controls. You will link finance, operations and IT, troubleshoot issues, automate processes and support month-end close.

The role demands hands-on configuration, stakeholder training and continuous improvement in a busy multi-depot environment, with Osborne Park WA as the base.

Qualifications

• CA/CPA qualified or working towards in accounting or commerce.
• Hands-on experience administering and configuring Odoo ERP in a finance context is essential.
• Solid understanding of core accounting processes (GL, AP/AR, reconciliations, fixed assets, inventory) and how they translate into system configuration.
• Strong Excel skills; SQL or reporting-tools experience is highly regarded.
• Experience in a multi-entity environment is advantageous; exposure to transport/logistics asset-heavy industries is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving and ability to translate between finance and systems for non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Systems Administration & Configuration: administer and configure Odoo ERP across finance modules; manage user access and data governance; own chart of accounts structure.
• User Acceptance & Competence: ensure understanding of the Odoo system, drive user buy-in, manage changes, train super users.
• Reporting & Process Improvement: build automated reports and dashboards in Odoo; streamline AP/AR/bank/workflows; integrate with payroll, fleet, banking.
• Month-End & Financial Support: assist with month-end/year-end close; resolve system discrepancies; support statutory reporting.
• Projects & Continuous Improvement: lead system improvements; manage upgrades and new depots; document processes and train staff.
