Job summary

people2people is seeking a technically strong System Accountant to join a major ERP and billing transformation project in Melbourne. The role sits at the intersection of Finance and Technology, acting as the conduit between Finance, project teams, and implementation partners to translate requirements into effective system outcomes.

As the Finance SME, you will contribute across the full project lifecycle, including requirements gathering, design, testing, data migration, documentation, training

Qualifications

• CA or CPA qualified (or working towards completion).
• Strong accounting fundamentals.
• Experience as Systems Accountant, Finance Systems, ERP Project Accounting or Finance Transformation.
• Experience participating in ERP implementation projects.
• Exposure to UAT, data migration and reconciliation activities.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to build relationships across both Finance and Technology teams.

Responsibilities

• Act as the Finance SME for a major Finance & Billing transformation project.
• Translate accounting and operational requirements into system functionality.
• Partner with Finance, IT, project teams and external stakeholders.
• Lead UAT planning, execution and sign-off activities.
• Support data migration, validation and reconciliation processes.
• Contribute to solution design and configuration decisions.
• Develop procedures, training materials and user documentation.
• Support go-live readiness and user adoption.
• Drive continuous improvement across finance processes and controls.
• Provide support across broader finance activities as required.
