Agnico Eagle is a senior Canadian gold mining company with operations in Canada, Australia, Finland and Mexico, including the Fosterville Gold Mine near Bendigo, Victoria. We seek a Finance Superintendent to lead the business accounting function and drive robust financial processes within a major mining operation.

The role reports to the Finance Manager and requires CPA/CA qualification, strong leadership, and experience managing a finance team in an ERP environment to ensure accurate reporting

Qualifications

• CPA/CA qualification with substantial senior accounting experience, preferably in mining.
• Experience leading and developing finance staff.
• Proficiency with ERP systems, Pronto and Excel; strong internal audit knowledge.

Responsabilités

• Oversee monthly dual currency accounting and reporting.
• Manage the Accounts Payable team.
• Mentor and develop the finance team.
• Review monthly general ledger reconciliations.
• Lead FBT compliance and reporting.
• Prepare annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
• Oversee quarterly and annual external audits.
• Identify opportunities to improve finance and reporting functions.
• Relieve the Finance Manager when required.

The company owns and operates the Fosterville Gold Mine, which is located on Dja Dja Wurrung Country, approximately 20 kilometres east of Bendigo in Central Victoria. The role

Reporting to the Finance Manager, the Finance Superintendent is responsible for managing the business accounting function.

The role is responsible for:

• '¢ Controlling monthly dual currency accounting to ensure timely completion and reporting;
• '¢ Managing the Accounts Payable team;
• '¢ Managing, mentoring and developing the finance team;
• '¢ Reviewing monthly general ledger reconciliations;
• '¢ Leading FBT compliance and reporting;
• '¢ Preparing annual budgets and quarterly forecasts;
• '¢ Managing quarterly and annual external audits;
• '¢ Identifying opportunities to improve the finance and reporting functions; and
• '¢ Relieving the Finance Manager, as required.

Selection criteria

CPA/CA qualified, you will need substantial experience working in a senior accounting role (including management/supervision of staff) and have a strong background in mining. Knowledge of integrated accounting (ERP) systems, Pronto and Excel is required as well as knowledge of internal audit compliance procedures. Your excellent leadership and interpersonal skills will see you secure this dynamic role.
