Job summary

Bank Australia Limited is seeking a Finance Projects Senior Analyst to lead the migration of reconciliations to BlackLine and to strengthen balance sheet substantiation within the Finance Operations and Accounting team in Melbourne. This 12-month fixed-term contract focuses on automation, data integration, and governance to support major projects and ongoing improvement initiatives.

The role requires hands-on BlackLine experience, strong analytical skills, and CA/CPA qualifications.

Qualifications

Hands-on experience with BlackLine implementation and optimisation.
Strong expertise in balance sheet reconciliations, substantiation, financial controls, and governance frameworks.
Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex financial data into actionable insights.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with experience partnering across Finance, Technology, Risk, and Operations teams.
Professional accounting qualifications (CA or CPA preferred) and experience supporting finance projects, system implementations, or business transformation initiatives.

Responsibilities

Lead the transition of manual spreadsheet-based reconciliations into the BlackLine platform, including reconciliation design, data integration, and workflow automation.
Partner with Finance, Business Controls, Technology, Data teams, and external vendors to establish balance sheet substantiation and streamline reconciliation processes.
Support core banking system transition and merger activities, including GL mapping, finance integrations, testing, and go-live support.
Drive process improvement, automation, and standardisation initiatives to enhance controls, reduce risk, and improve operational efficiency.
Deliver financial analysis, reporting, and project support to enable informed decision-making and successful project outcomes.
Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and learning while maintaining strong governance, accuracy, and financial control standards.
