Job summary

Mars Recruitment in Sydney CBD is seeking a Finance Operations Accountant to join a fast-growing financial services business. You will own day-to-day finance operations in a high-volume environment, focusing on accuracy, deadlines and process improvement.

Reporting to the CFO, the role balances finance operations, reporting, analysis and automation with exposure to senior leadership. The ideal candidate has 3+ years in finance ops and strong Excel skills; CA/CPA studies are a plus.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in finance operations or similar accounting role.
• Strong reconciliation and reporting capabilities.
• Experience managing competing deadlines in high-volume environment.
• Process improvement and automation mindset.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management.
• CA/CPA qualifications or studies in progress viewed favourably but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily settlements and fund allocations.
• Perform trust and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare management reports, KPIs and cashflow reporting.
• Support FP&A and financial analysis activities.
• Drive automation and process improvement initiatives.
• Manage recovery invoicing and receivables activities.
• Oversee accounts payable processes.
• Support operational problem-solving and ad hoc projects.
• Partner closely with executives across the business.
