Job summary

Mars Recruitment is seeking a Finance Operations Accountant in Sydney to own day-to-day finance operations for a high-volume environment. You will report to the CFO and help build scalable processes while partnering with the CEO and leadership team.

The role emphasizes accuracy, deadlines, and continuous improvement, with exposure to senior leadership and meaningful impact on business performance. 3+ years in finance operations and strong Excel skills are required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience in finance operations or a similar accounting role.
• Strong reconciliation and reporting capabilities.
• Experience managing competing deadlines in a high-volume environment.
• A process improvement and automation mindset.
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
• Strong communication skills and stakeholder management ability.
• CA/CPA qualifications or studies in progress will be viewed favourably but are not essential.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily settlements and fund allocations.
• Perform trust and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare management reports, KPIs and cashflow reporting.
• Support FP&A and financial analysis activities.
• Drive automation and process improvement initiatives.
• Manage recovery invoicing and receivables activities.
• Oversee accounts payable processes.
• Support operational problem-solving and ad hoc projects.
• Partner closely with executives across the business.
