Job summary

Stanke Group Electrics Pty Ltd in Rockhampton, QLD, is seeking a Finance Officer to own day-to-day accounts payable and receivable for two companies within the group. You will support month-end processes and financial reporting, with potential to broaden responsibilities across the group.

Ideal candidates have at least 1 year in an accounts role, hands-on Xero experience, and solid Excel skills. AroFlo experience is advantageous as the role develops.

Qualifications

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in an accounts or finance role, with hands-on experience in accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Experience using Xero.
• Experience with job management software would be highly regarded, with AroFlo experience an advantage.
• Good Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel.
• A sound understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate financial records.
• The confidence and communication skills to follow up outstanding accounts with customers when required.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
• Good written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work effectively with colleagues across the business.
• A proactive, reliable and solutions-focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable for two companies, including supplier invoices, payment processing, customer invoicing and receipts.
• Monitor outstanding accounts and follow up overdue debtors.
• Respond to supplier and customer account queries and resolve discrepancies.
• Complete supplier, customer, bank and other account reconciliations.
• Assist with month-end and end-of-financial-year processes, including reconciliations, journals and supporting schedules.
• Prepare routine financial reports and supporting information for Management.
• Maintain accurate financial information across Xero and AroFlo.
• Assist with general finance and administration tasks as required.
• Identify opportunities to improve systems and processes and contribute to efficient finance operations.
