Job summary

Norton Rose Fulbright Australia is seeking a detail-oriented Finance Officer to join the Client Accounting team in Sydney on a full-time, 6-month fixed-term contract. You will support billing, eBilling and matter management, delivering accurate finance services to internal and external clients.

Reporting to the Financial Systems and Operations Manager, you will assist with WIP, time recording and finance systems, contributing to major global projects during a period of business transformation.

Qualifications

• Experience in billing, eBilling, finance operations or a similar finance support role.
• Experience in a law firm, professional services or financial services environment will be highly regarded.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering accurate, high-quality work.
• Knowledge of Aderant Expert or a similar practice management system.
• Confidence using spreadsheets, particularly in Microsoft Excel.
• Experience working with time-based accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide finance, billing and matter management support to stakeholders across the firm.
• Manage client and matter administration, ensuring information is maintained accurately and in accordance with firm procedures.
• Coordinate eBilling activities, including system maintenance, uploads, vendor liaison and issue resolution.
• Set up and maintain client billing arrangements, special rates and matter information.
• Support billing enquiries, WIP management activities and general finance-related requests.
• Deliver training and support on billing processes, time recording and finance systems.
• Maintain finance procedures and documentation, while identifying opportunities for process improvement.
• Support finance projects and broader operational initiatives as required.
