Job summary

Capital Recruit is seeking a Finance Manager in Canberra for a permanent role to support growth across Australia and the APAC region. You will lead a small finance team and bridge between the part-time CFO and a bookkeeper, delivering timely financial reporting and strategic insight.

You must be CA/CPA qualified with a track record of developing management reports for executives. The role is office-based in Civic with potential for 1 day WFH after probation.

The Organisation:

A Canberra business that is experiencing impressive growth. A strong brand name that has expanded beyond the Australian market and into the broader APAC region.

The Role:

The Finance Manager will play a key role in the continued growth and success of this business. This is a newly created role, which demonstrates the investment in corporate services to mirror the success and expansion of the client facing and service delivery of this business.

The finance function is led by a part-time CFO and also has a bookkeeper that supports with operations (AP/AR etc). You will be the bridge between the 2 and take up this leadership role within the business. The CFO is more advisory, as Finance Manager, you will advise the leadership team on all aspects of finance.

They use MYOB as their FMIS, and you will lead the financial reporting, management reporting, financial operations, tax preparation, and business improvement.

This is a permanent role with a salary of up to $130k + super on offer. The role will be 100% based in the office initially (located in Civic), with a review and potential for 1 day WFH post probation.

Your Skills and Experience:

They are keen to meet with finance professionals that have led growing organisations and diverse revenues. You must be professionally qualified (CA/CPA) and have full Australian work rights.

You’ve demonstrated experience of developing and delivering financial statements. You’re also able to demonstrate how you have developed management reports that support executives to make decisions.

Your communication skills are strong and you’re able to describe how you have effectively worked with people that have varying levels of financial literacy, and adjusted your style and engagement accordingly.

Demonstrated leadership skills are also important, as you will need to motivate, support and develop your team in this role.
