Job summary

MTP Services, a Canberra-based IT services company serving Australian Government clients, is seeking a hands-on Senior Finance Officer / Finance Manager to join on a permanent basis. You will work directly with the CFO across the full finance function—from month-end to budgeting and commercial analysis.

This role also offers opportunities to mentor Finance staff, streamline processes and partner with stakeholders on financial matters, in a culture that values teamwork and impact.

Qualifications

• Hands-on finance experience with strong month-end close and reporting.
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Payroll, invoicing, reconciliations and cash flow experience.
• Experience with Xero, MYOB or similar finance platforms.
• Ability to mentor or manage other team members.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day finance operations.
• Month-end close, reporting and invoicing.
• Payroll for employees and contractors.
• Accounts receivable and cash-flow management.
• Prepare budgets and forecasts.
• Management reporting and financial analysis.
• Bank and balance-sheet reconciliations.
• Support audit, compliance and statutory reporting.
• Partner with stakeholders on financial matters.
