Job summary

Downer is seeking a Finance Manager – Fixed Assets & Leases to lead the end‑to‑end fixed asset and lease accounting across the organisation. You will ensure accurate reporting, strong controls, and IFRS compliance while guiding offshore service delivery and cross‑functional partnerships.

You will partner with Finance leaders and project teams, driving process improvements, period‑end activities, and control testing.

Qualifications

• CA, CPA, or equivalent professional accounting qualification.
• Significant experience in Record‑to‑Report, financial control or shared services.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, fixed asset accounting, and lease accounting requirements.
• Experience with ERP/financial systems such as SAP, Oracle, JDE, OneStream, Power BI, ServiceNow.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end Fixed Assets and Lease Accounting, incl. capitalisation, depreciation, disposals, reconciliations and period-end activities.
• Maintain integrity of fixed asset records and balance sheet accounts through robust review and reconciliations.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS lease accounting, capitalisation frameworks and governance requirements.
• Manage month-end and year-end closes, driving timelines, SLAs and quality outcomes.
• Oversee offshore service delivery teams and monitor KPIs and knowledge transfer.
• Partner with Finance leaders and stakeholders to provide accounting guidance and insights.
• Support internal and external audits, coordinate control testing and remediation actions.
• Identify opportunities for standardisation, automation, and process improvement.
