Qualifications

• CA or CPA qualified finance leader with senior experience.
• Extensive experience in fixed assets, lease accounting and RT&R.
• Strong IFRS knowledge, especially IFRS 16.
• Proven experience leading onshore/offshore teams in SSC/large corporate.
• Experience in strong financial controls, governance and audit readiness.
• Excellent stakeholder engagement with finance and operations.
• Hands-on approach to process improvement and automation.

This is a hands-on finance leadership role within a large and complex national organisation, with responsibility for the people, processes and controls supporting its fixed assets and lease accounting functions.

Reporting to the Manager of Financial Shared Services, you will lead a small local team alongside an offshore shared services team based in India. The role combines technical accounting ownership with day-to-day team leadership, stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement across a high-volume operating environment.

The position has been broadened following an internal restructure and will suit an experienced operational finance leader who enjoys managing established professionals, improving the way work is delivered and maintaining strong financial control.

Key responsibilities include:

• Lead the Fixed Assets and Lease Accounting function across a large national business.
• Manage and develop a combination of local and offshore finance professionals.
• Oversee month-end and year-end activities covering capitalisation, depreciation, disposals and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Take ownership of IFRS 16 lease accounting, reporting and compliance.
• Maintain the accuracy and integrity of the Fixed Asset Register.
• Strengthen financial controls, governance and audit readiness.
• Provide technical accounting guidance to finance and operational stakeholders.
• Improve the consistency, efficiency and automation of Record to Report processes.
• Establish clear accountabilities and service standards across the function.

We are looking for an experienced finance manager who combines technical accounting knowledge with credible and recent people leadership. This is not an FP&A or commercially focused position; its emphasis is on operational accounting, team management, controls and process improvement.
You will ideally bring:

• CA or CPA qualification.
• Strong experience across fixed assets, lease accounting and Record to Report.
• Sound knowledge of IFRS, particularly IFRS 16.
• Experience leading established finance professionals in a large corporate or shared services environment.
• Previous responsibility for offshore or geographically dispersed teams.
• A strong understanding of financial controls, governance and audit requirements.
• The ability to engage effectively with both finance and operational stakeholders.
• A practical and proactive approach to improving systems and processes.
