Job summary

Sharp and Carter in Melbourne is seeking an experienced Finance Manager on a 3–6 month contract to support the local finance function during a period of transition. You will manage month‑end close, ensure accurate reporting, and uphold strong financial controls in a multinational consumer goods environment.

The role suits a CA/CPA qualified professional with a proven track record in month‑end, financial reporting, and ERP systems (Dynamics 365 BC).

Qualifications

• CA or CPA qualified (or equivalent).
• Proven experience as Finance Manager, Senior Financial Accountant or Financial Controller.
• Strong month-end and financial reporting experience.
• Excellent reconciliation and financial controls capability.
• Experience with large ERP systems, preferably Dynamics 365 BC.
• Independent worker with proactive communication skills.
• Available immediately or on short notice.

Responsibilities

• Manage the month-end close process, including journals, accruals, reconciliations and reporting.
• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Support monthly and quarterly financial reporting requirements.
• Assist with audit preparation and respond to finance-related queries.
• Maintain strong financial controls and ensure compliance with internal policies.
• Work within the ERP system to support financial operations and reporting.
• Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and reporting efficiency.
• Partner with stakeholders across the business to support operational finance activities.

This role will provide critical support to the local finance function, ensuring smooth day‑to‑day operations, timely reporting, and strong financial controls during a period of transition.
