Job summary

Ambition Group Limited is hiring a Finance Manager for a private healthcare group in Ballarat. You will lead the finance function, drive scalable processes and turn financial data into commercial insight. The role is hybrid with three days onsite and reports to the CFO.

Key duties include month-end close, budgeting and forecasting, cash flow planning, and partnering with operations. You’ll build Power BI dashboards, support strategic projects and acquisitions, and oversee payroll, AP, and

Qualifications

• CA or CPA certification required
• Experience as Finance Manager or senior accountant
• Proven financial modelling and analysis skills
• Power BI dashboards and reporting experience
• Healthcare, professional services or labour-intensive environment experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Lead month-end and year-end reporting, including management accounts and board packs
• Manage budgeting, forecasting and cash flow planning
• Deliver financial analysis and insights to the executive team, and partner with operational leaders to improve performance and profitability
• Support the CFO with strategic projects, business cases, investment analysis, financial modelling and acquisition opportunities
• Review and streamline payroll, rostering and specialist medical staff commission calculations
• Identify opportunities to automate manual processes, using technology, reporting tools and potentially AI
• Build dashboards and data packs in Power BI, and establish clear performance metrics across the business
• Oversee AP, AR and payroll, mentor the existing finance team, and maintain strong controls and governance

Finance Manager | Healthcare | Ballarat (Hybrid)

$165k + super | Start January 2027

The opportunity:

Join a privately owned, high-growth healthcare group delivering specialist diagnostic services across regional Victoria. With revenue above $40m, continued double-digit growth and a recently renewed long-term hospital partnership, the business is scaling fast and needs a finance leader to scale with it.

This is a newly created position reporting directly to the CFO. You'll lead the finance function, build scalable processes and turn financial data into commercial insight. You'll also support expansion and potential acquisition activity.

The role

• Lead month-end and year-end reporting, including monthly management accounts and board packs
• Manage budgeting, forecasting and cash flow planning
• Deliver financial analysis and insights to the executive team, and partner with operational leaders to improve performance and profitability
• Support the CFO with strategic projects, business cases, investment analysis, financial modelling and acquisition opportunities
• Review and streamline payroll, rostering and specialist medical staff commission calculations
• Identify opportunities to automate manual processes, using technology, reporting tools and potentially AI
• Build dashboards and data packs in Power BI, and establish clear performance metrics across the business

About you

• CA or CPA qualified
• Previous experience as a Finance Manager/ strong Senior Accountant
• Strong financial modelling and analytical skills
• Power BI experience building dashboards and reporting solutions
• A track record of improving systems, processes and controls
• Strong stakeholder management and business partnering skills
• Experience in healthcare, professional services or labour-intensive environments is highly regarded
• Payroll and commission structure experience is advantageous
