Job summary

HotDoc is seeking a Head of Finance to own accounting, tax, reporting and controls, and to design AI-enabled finance processes. You will lead a small team and partner with the CFO, board and investors to deliver accurate numbers and scalable operations as the business grows.

Qualifications

• Qualified CA or CPA with accounting/finance degree.
• Experience owning month-end close and leading a finance team.
• Deep expertise in financial reporting, compliance and internal controls.
• Experience in private equity-backed settings (covenants reporting preferred).
• Strong cashflow modelling and SaaS metrics understanding.
• Experience automating finance processes and applying AI.
• Advanced Excel and cloud finance systems (Xero/NetSuite).
• Ability to explain numbers to non-finance leaders.

Responsibilities

• Own month-end close, AP/AR/payroll and P&L and sign off with close by day 5.
• Prepare board packs and investor reporting; monitor covenants and margins.
• Oversee year-end statutory statements and external audit; manage ATO/SRO obligations.
• Maintain 13-week cashflow forecast and manage working capital.
• Lead finance systems strategy with ERP, payroll, and reporting tools.
• Lead and develop a team of two.
