Job summary

TOM People in Sydney is seeking a highly analytical Finance Analyst to join a growing team. You will work with large data sets, perform reconciliations, improve reporting processes and develop dashboards to support decision making.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years of finance experience, advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP, Power Query) and a degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce. Insurance sector experience is viewed favorably.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in Finance, Financial Analysis, Reporting or similar role.
• Advanced Excel skills including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP and Power Query.
• Experience working with large and complex data sets.
• Excellent reconciliation, consolidation and problem solving skills.
• High attention to detail and analytical capability.
• Degree qualified in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or related discipline.
• Insurance experience would be highly regarded, but candidates from banking, wealth management, funds management and broader financial services environments are also of interest.

Responsibilities

• Perform reconciliations and consolidations across multiple data sources.
• Analyse financial and operational data to identify insights and trends.
• Support month end and management reporting.
• Investigate data discrepancies and ensure reporting accuracy.
• Develop reporting models, dashboards and analytical tools.
• Drive process improvements and automation initiatives.
• Partner with stakeholders across finance and the wider business.
