Job summary

Ambition Group is seeking a Data Analyst in Sydney to own how the business captures and reports data end-to-end. You will design data capture, storage and reporting, and build the Power BI suite from the ground up.

You’ll work with an in-house ERP developer to translate operational and financial data into dashboards for senior leadership, alternating between FP&A tasks and automation to deliver a scalable data solution.

Qualifications

Strong SQL skills (SQL Server Management Studio) and ability to write your own DAX.
Experience building Power BI dashboards and reporting models from scratch.
Working knowledge of Power Platform (Power Automate) and PowerShell scripting.
API experience (REST/GraphQL) and understanding of data gateways.
Comfort with large datasets, ideally from FMCG or large organisations.
It’s beneficial to have FP&A, financial analysis or commercial finance exposure.
Strong commercial acumen and ability to translate complex data for non-finance stakeholders.

Responsibilities

Own the transition to a single source of truth, designing data capture, storage and reporting.
Design and build the Power BI reporting suite from the ground up.
Collaborate with an in-house software developer on ERP integration.
Translate operational and financial data into dashboards for senior leadership.
Move between BAU FP&A and technical automation with end-to-end ownership.
