Origin Support Services Pty Ltd in Cairns is seeking a Financial Controller to manage day-to-day financial control, reporting, and compliance, supporting strategic decisions and financial sustainability. This role oversees accounts payable/receivable, payroll for 170+ staff, bank reconciliations, budgeting, financial reporting, NDIS invoicing, and process improvements.

This role requires strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to work autonomously and manage competing

Competenze

• Minimum 3 years' experience in a Financial Controller, Senior Finance Officer, Finance Manager, or similar role.
• Demonstrated experience in accounts payable, reconciliations, payroll, and financial reporting.
• Strong understanding of budgeting, cash flow management, and financial controls.
• High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
• Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Sound knowledge of relevant Australian financial, taxation, payroll, and employment legislation.

The Financial Controller is responsible for the day-to-day financial management, financial control, reporting, compliance, and operational finance functions of the organisation. The role ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial information, supports strategic decision-making, maintains financial compliance, and contributes to the ongoing financial sustainability of Origin Support Services. Working closely with the Director and operational leadership team, the Financial Controller will oversee accounts payable and receivable, payroll, reconciliations, budgeting, financial reporting, NDIS billing, and financial process improvements.

Key responsibilities

Support the development and implementation of the organisation's financial plans and objectives.

Prepare monthly management reports, financial statements, forecasts, and cash flow projections.

Monitor organisational financial performance and identify risks, trends, and improvement opportunities.

Assist with the preparation and monitoring of annual budgets.

Process and authorise supplier invoices in a timely and accurate manner.

Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank reconciliations.

About you
