Job summary

Perceptive Talent Solutions – Waverley NSW is seeking a Finance Business Partner for a local government council in Sydney's Eastern Suburbs. The role supports budgeting, forecasting and financial performance across the organisation.

Key focus areas include budget reviews, grant management, asset accounting and financial modelling. You will provide guidance to directorates and prepare regular financial reports.

Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Accounting or a Business discipline and studying towards CPA/CA qualification.
• Experience with Technology One or a similar ERP.
• Experience in a government, government owned or tertiary education environment.
• Sound knowledge of applicable accounting practices and standards.
• Advanced Excel skills and strong report writing ability.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee annual and quarterly budget reviews.
• Record and report on Council's grants program.
• Maintain Council's fixed asset register including capitalisation and disposal.
• Provide financial analysis and guidance to Council directorates.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports.
• Develop long-term financial plan.
• Liaise with other departments to provide accurate information and advice.
• Ensure GST/FBT compliance and statutory obligations.
