Job summary

Bass Coast Shire Council in Wonthaggi, Victoria, seeks an experienced finance leader to steer budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting across the organisation. You will oversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Purchasing, delivering practical financial solutions and driving continuous improvement.

Reporting to the Coordinator Finance, this is a 12-month, full-time temporary role with a flexible hybrid work arrangement.

Qualifications

• A tertiary qualification in Commerce, Accounting or a related discipline.
• Experience in budgeting, financial reporting, compliance and financial analysis.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to build credible relationships across a diverse organisation.
• Customer-focused mindset and commitment to continuous improvement.
• Previous leadership experience is highly regarded but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Partner with business areas to provide quality financial advice and support.
• Support the efficient and effective delivery of Council's financial, accounting and reporting functions.
• Contribute to the development of Council's annual budget, long-term financial plan and financial forecasts.
• Lead the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Purchasing Team.
