Job summary

Service Stream is seeking an experienced Finance Business Partner to lead financial activities for the Defence PAS contract in the Northern Territory. This permanent full-time role at Robertson Barracks focuses on budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and strategic financial insights to support project decisions and governance.

You will partner with the NT Operational Team to manage performance across 113 Defence sites and drive sound financial practices while maintaining compliance with government

Qualifications

We are proud to become a new Australian Department of Defence partner, offering career opportunities to support the delivery of Property and Asset Services across South Australia and the Northern Territory.

We have a newly created role available for an experienced Finance Business Partner to join our growing ASX-listed company and contribute to this new, long-term contract supporting 113 Defence sites and training facilities. You'll be part of a collaborative team where you can confidently share your ideas and build sound finance practices. This is a permanent full-time position based out of Robertson Barracks, Northern Territory.

About the role

You will partner with the Northern Territory Operational Team to provide financial leadership and support for the successful delivery of the Defence Property and Asset Services (PAS) contract. You will oversee financial performance, risk management, compliance, reporting, and governance, while providing strategic financial insights to support operational decision-making and contract outcomes.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Leading budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and analysis to support business performance and decision-making.
• Monitoring cash flow, invoicing, and contractor payments to optimise working capital.
• Managing budget processes and support cost control and operational efficiency initiatives.
• Ensuring compliance with financial, regulatory, and contractual requirements while supporting audits and risk management.
• Partnering with stakeholders to provide financial insights, recommendations, and performance reporting.
• Improving financial systems, processes, and controls to enhance governance and decision-making.
• Providing financial support for strategic initiatives, investments, and business growth opportunities.

About you

Our ideal candidate will have:

• Extensive finance and accounting experience, including senior finance leadership roles, preferably within defence or government environments.
• Experience managing financial operations across multiple sites or regions.
• Strong understanding of government financial regulations, compliance, and audit requirements.
• Proven expertise in financial management, budgeting, forecasting, and business analysis.
• Professional accounting qualification (CA or CPA) would be highly desirable.

You must be an Australian Citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance.
