Job summary

Reo Group seeks an experienced Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable Manager to lead a transactional finance team in our defence sector client for an initial 6-month assignment with extension potential.

Reporting to senior finance leadership, you will oversee end-to-end AP/AR operations, drive process improvements, and mentor a high-performing team in a fast-paced environment while ensuring accurate reporting and strong controls.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience managing AP/AR in large or complex organisations.
  • Leadership experience with mentoring high-performing teams.
  • Strong financial controls, reconciliations, and month-end processes.
  • Experience with ERP systems and advanced Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Lead end-to-end AP and AR functions with timely, accurate processing.
  • Manage month-end and year-end close, reconciliations, reporting.
  • Drive continuous improvement across finance processes and controls.
  • Coach and develop AP/AR team; foster accountability and high performance.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and suppliers to resolve issues.
  • Monitor KPIs and regulatory compliance; identify efficiency opportunities.

Role Overview

An excellent opportunity has become available for an experienced Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable Manager to join a well-established organisation supplying into the defence sector on an initial 6-month contract, with the strong possibility of extension.

Reporting into senior finance leadership, you'll oversee the end-to-end Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions while leading an established team and ensuring the smooth delivery of critical finance operations. This is a hands-on leadership role that combines people management, process improvement, stakeholder engagement and financial governance within a complex and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the end-to-end Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, ensuring timely, accurate and compliant transaction processing.
  • Manage month-end and year-end close activities, reconciliations and reporting.
  • Drive continuous improvement across finance processes, systems and internal controls.
  • Lead, coach and develop the AP/AR team while fostering a culture of accountability and high performance.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to deliver exceptional service and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Monitor KPIs, ensure regulatory compliance and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency.
Candidate Profile

This opportunity will suit an experienced transactional finance leader who enjoys developing teams, improving processes and building strong stakeholder relationships.

The successful candidate will ideally possess:

  • Proven experience managing Accounts Payable and/or Accounts Receivable functions within a large or complex organisation.
  • Previous leadership experience with the ability to mentor and develop high-performing teams.
  • Strong understanding of financial controls, reconciliations and month-end processes.
  • Experience working with ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and build relationships across all levels of the business.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Finance, Commerce or Business will be highly regarded.
