Job description

The Opportunity

Are you an experienced Finance Assistant who enjoys taking ownership, building strong working relationships and keeping things running smoothly?

Join AG Security Group and become an important part of our finance team. Reporting to the Financial Accountant, you’ll use your accounts experience across a broad range of responsibilities, with exposure to multiple entities and the opportunity to expand your knowledge beyond day-to-day processing. This role will suit someone who enjoys variety, takes pride in accurate work and likes being involved in the wider business. Working closely with our Financial Accountant and Assistant Accountant, you’ll contribute to everything from supplier payments and reconciliations to accounts receivable, payroll assistance and cash flow forecasting. You’ll have responsibility for your own workload, regular contact with suppliers and customers, and plenty of opportunities to apply your initiative.

What you’ll be doing
  • Processing supplier invoices and credit notes, ensuring accurate allocation and appropriate approvals.
  • Preparing supplier payments, reconciling statements and resolving supplier queries.
  • Completing daily bank and corporate credit card reconciliations across multiple entities.
  • Managing accounts receivable, including invoicing, monitoring outstanding balances and following up overdue payments.
  • Maintaining supplier accounts and accurate financial records in Xero.
  • Processing employee expense claims and reconciling petty cash.
  • Reconciling intercompany transactions, loans and fund transfers.
  • Supporting cash flow forecasting, payroll and other finance activities as required.

You’ll also provide general administrative support and assist with banking errands and customer payments. Occasional urgent warehouse assistance may be required, with any forklift operation limited to appropriately licensed and authorised employees.

What you’ll bring

You’re organised, approachable and reliable, with the confidence to manage competing priorities and follow things through. You understand that strong finance support comes from both accurate records and good relationships.

Ideally, you’ll have:

  • At least three years’ experience in a similar finance or accounts role.
  • Practical experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable and reconciliations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial software, with Xero experience preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to resolving discrepancies.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Sound judgement and discretion when handling confidential information.

Qualifications in accounting, finance, administration or a related discipline would be well regarded.
