Job summary

Central Adelaide Local Health Network (CALHN) invites applications for the Finance and Business Officer role within the Mental Health team. The position supports financial, workforce and business resources, translating data into actionable insights for service delivery.

You will work with the Senior Finance Consultant and Mental Health leadership to turn financial information into practical advice, helping leaders make informed decisions that improve care and outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality financial advice, analysis and support to Mental Health leaders and managers.
• Support budget development, monitoring and forecasting.
• Analyse financial and workforce information to identify variances and provide recommendations.
• Prepare timely financial reports, exception reports and trend analyses.
• Support workforce planning and recruitment/establishment financial advice.
• Undertake financial investigations and develop reports on complex matters.
• Identify funding opportunities and financial impacts from changes.
• Support revenue, billing, purchasing, asset management and reconciliation processes.
• Contribute to business cases, briefings and service improvement initiatives.
• Collaborate with Finance, Payroll, other LHNs and external partners.

About the Role

Join our Mental Health team as a Finance and Business Officer and play an important role in supporting the effective management of financial, workforce and business resources across our services.

Working closely with the Senior Finance Consultant, Finance Business Partner and Mental Health leadership team, you will turn financial information into meaningful insights, provide practical advice and help leaders make informed decisions that support the delivery of high-quality mental health services.

You will bring your financial expertise and business acumen to a diverse and rewarding role, including:

• Providing high-quality financial advice, analysis and support to Mental Health leaders and managers.
• Supporting budget development, monitoring and forecasting, identifying emerging trends, risks and opportunities.
• Analysing financial and workforce information to identify significant variances and provide practical recommendations.
• Preparing timely financial reports, exception reports and trend analysis to support informed decision-making.
• Supporting workforce planning and providing financial advice for recruitment and establishment management.
• Undertaking financial investigations and developing reports and recommendations on complex financial matters.
• Identifying funding opportunities and financial impacts arising from organisational, legislative, policy and service changes.
• Supporting revenue, billing, debtor management, purchasing, asset management and financial reconciliation processes.
• Contributing to business cases, briefings, business planning and service improvement initiatives.
• Working collaboratively with Finance, Payroll, other Local Health Networks, universities and external partners.
• Supporting strong financial governance, risk management and compliance across Mental Health.
