Job summary

The Financial Services team at UNSW Canberra is accountable for providing end-to-end finance services. Our Finance Analyst supports the preparation and delivery of financial management activities and undertakes analysis of Faculty budgets and accounts and translate data into advice and guidance to enable reporting and tracking of revenues, expenditures, and other key financial indicators.

UNSW Canberra offers a continuing, full-time role at the ADFA Campus with a remuneration starting at Level 6

Qualifications

• Relevant tertiary qualification with completion of (or towards completing) a CA or CPA qualification (or equivalent).
• Demonstrated experience in management reporting, budgeting and forecasting in a large organisation.
• Sound knowledge of budgeting, forecasting and reporting tools with Excel proficiency.
• Strong communication, interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop financial models and spreadsheets to provide detailed analysis and meaningful commentary regarding key issues highlighted by monthly management reports.
• Provide finance support to academics, understand research funding, including compliance requirements, spending timeframes and allowable expenditure, to proactively identify, mitigate and manage compliance risks.
• Assist in the preparation of reports for presentations as well as monthly and quarterly financial management packs.
• Assist in the investigation of financial data to ensure issues, risk and/or compliance breaches are identified.
• Support the preparation and delivery of financial management activities including month end, planning, forecasting, reporting and analysis activities.
• Undertake financial modelling and scenario analysis to support decision making.
