Job summary

Australian Department of Defence – Garden Island NSW is seeking experienced finance professionals to join the Navy finance team in Sydney, NSW. You will provide financial data analysis, identify risks and opportunities, and help understand cost drivers affecting capability.

You will communicate complex financial information to a wide range of clients, collaborate with Navy teams, and contribute to smarter, more efficient working practices through technology and continuous learning.

Qualifications

• Provide financial management support and assist with budget preparation and financial performance monitoring.
• Understand and advise on Defence and government financial management matters.
• Apply financial management knowledge and undertake objective analysis to draw conclusions from evidence.
• Build and sustain relationships with team members and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Provide financial management support, assist with budget preparation and financial performance monitoring and reporting in accordance with Defence objectives.
• Understand and provide advice on Defence and government financial management matters.
• Apply financial management knowledge and undertake objective and systematic analysis to draw accurate conclusions based on evidence.
• Build and sustain effective relationships with team members and stakeholders, and actively participate in team work and group activities.
