Job summary

Australian Department of Defence – Garden Island NSW is seeking experienced finance professionals to join the Navy finance team in Sydney, NSW. You will provide financial data analysis, identify risks and opportunities, and help understand cost drivers affecting capability.

You will communicate complex financial information to a wide range of clients, collaborate with Navy teams, and contribute to smarter, more efficient working practices through technology and continuous learning.

Australian Department of Defence – Garden Island NSW

Defence Finance Group (DFG) is seeking experienced and enthusiastic finance professionals to join the Navy finance team for current vacancies in HMAS Kuttabul and Garden Island in Sydney, NSW.

In this role, you will work independently, undertaking a range of financial tasks and activities, including the provision of financial data analysis, identification of financial risks and opportunities, and developing a sound understanding of cost drivers and impacts on capability achievement.

You have strong communication skills and client engagement capabilities, and you are naturally suited to explaining complex financial information to a broad range of clients. You enjoy learning about the people and business areas you support, are committed to learning and enjoy using technology to enable smarter, more efficient ways of working.

We are a small and dynamic team working collaboratively with our clients within Navy and the Naval Shipbuilding and Sustainment Group (NSSG).The Navy Finance teams are regionally dispersed around Australia, supporting internal and external clients across the organisation, and are dedicated to the provision of high quality financial services.
