WesTrac NSW/ACT is seeking a Finance Analyst to support month-end reporting, governance and stakeholder collaboration. You will turn data into insights, address financial and commercial challenges, and contribute to business initiatives.

You will have a tertiary qualification in Commerce/Accounting/Finance, strong analytical skills, Excel proficiency, and experience with accounting software. A proactive communicator who can work with cross-functional teams will thrive.

Qualifications

• A tertiary qualification in Commerce, Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Experience in Chartered or commercial accounting with solid accounting principles.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to interpret financial information.
• Excellent Excel and systems capability with accounting software experience; reporting automation a bonus.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills; ability to collaborate with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Play a key role in month-end reporting, preparing journals and analysing variances.
• Analyse margins, overheads and revenue across Parts, Service and Solutions to identify trends.
• Contribute to CAT reporting, ELT reporting and monthly Board inputs.
• Review controls, reconciliations, discrepancies, and advise on accruals and provisions.
• Partner with Functional Managers to solve problems and support decisions.
• Drive continuous improvement in finance processes and reporting.

Job description

Looking for a finance role with exposure beyond the numbers? As a Finance Analyst, you’ll support month-end reporting and financial governance while working closely with stakeholders across the WesTrac NSW/ACT business. You’ll use your analytical and problem-solving skills to provide insights, address financial and commercial challenges, and contribute to a range of business initiatives and projects.

Key Responsibilities

Play a key role in month-end reporting, preparing journals, analysing financial results and investigating variances against budgets and forecasts.

Turn financial data into meaningful insights, analysing sales margins, overheads and revenue across Parts, Service and Solutions to identify trends and forecast variations.

Contribute to high-quality business reporting, including CAT reporting, ELT reporting and monthly Board report inputs, providing clear analysis to support decision-making.

Support strong financial governance by reviewing controls, completing balance sheet reconciliations, investigating discrepancies, reviewing key controls and making recommendations on accruals and provisions.

Partner with Functional Managers and key stakeholders, using your financial and commercial expertise to solve problems, provide recommendations and support informed business decisions.

Drive continuous improvement while managing competing priorities, planning your workload effectively and identifying opportunities to improve finance processes, systems and reporting.

Skills and Experience

A tertiary qualification in Commerce, Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.

Previous experience in Chartered or a commercial accounting role, with a solid understanding of accounting principles.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with confidence interpreting financial information and identifying solutions.

Strong Excel and systems capability, with experience using accounting software and the Microsoft Office suite. Exposure to reporting automation would be a bonus.

Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across the business.

A high level of attention to detail and organisation, with the ability to work independently, prioritise competing demands and deliver quality outcomes to deadlines.
