Job summary

Veolia’s Brisbane-based Environmental Services commercial finance team seeks a driven finance professional to prepare and review financial and management reports and deliver insights to improve performance. Based in Rocklea, the role offers a permanent full-time position with occasional work-from-home flexibility.

You will drive budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis, partnering with operational leaders. CA/CPA progress and SAP/TM1 experience are valued.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Accounting/Finance, or equivalent and significant accounting experience.
• Must be working towards CA or CPA qualification (or qualified).
• Experience in an accounting or financial analyst role in a high-volume, complex business.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver financial and management reports with partners and Finance Manager.
• Perform financial analysis and variance reporting, focusing on operational drivers.
• Build and maintain commercial models and profitability reviews.
• Lead opex-to-capex transfers, ensuring costs meet recognition criteria.
• Own the annual budget process and ongoing forecasting activities.
• Perform ad hoc accounting and finance tasks.

Are you a driven finance professional looking to grow your career within Veolia’s transport business?

Join our QLD Environmental Services commercial finance team. In your day-to-day, you will prepare and review financial and management reports, working closely with operational and finance leaders, to deliver insights to improve performance and support strategic decision making.

This is a permanent full-time role based in our Rocklea, 4106 (Brisbane) office, with the option to occasionally work from home.

What you'll be responsible for

• Preparation and delivery of financial and management reports working closely with operational business partners and the Finance Manager
• Financial analysis and variance reporting, with a focus on understanding the operational drivers behind performance
• Build and maintain commercial models and profitability reviews
• Lead the opex-to-capex transfers, ensuring all project costs, internal labour, and directly attributable expenses strictly meet AASB 116 Property, Plant and Equipment recognition criteria.
• Own the annual budget process and ongoing forecasting activities
• Ad hoc accounting and finance tasks

What you'll need to be successful

• Tertiary qualifications in Accounting/Finance, or equivalent and significant accounting experience
• Must be working towards completion of CA or CPA qualification (or qualified)
• Demonstrated experience within an accounting or financial analyst position with skills gained in a high volume and complex business
• Experience with SAP, TM1, Gsuite and MS office is an advantage
• Experience in logistics or waste industries would be beneficial but not essential
