Job summary

Veolia ANZ's transport division in Brisbane is seeking a driven finance professional to grow their career in the commercial finance team. You will prepare and review financial and management reports, partnering with operational and finance leaders to deliver insights that improve performance and inform strategic decisions.

This permanent full-time role is based at Rocklea (Brisbane) with occasional work-from-home flexibility and opportunities for career development within a large, values-driven

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualifications in Accounting/Finance or equivalent with significant accounting experience.
• Working towards CA or CPA qualification (or qualified).
• Experience in a high-volume, complex business accounting/analysis role.
• Audit experience desirable.
• Experience with SAP, TM1, GSuite and MS Office advantageous.
• Experience in logistics or waste industries beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and deliver financial and management reports with partners and Finance Manager.
• Perform financial analysis and variance reporting to understand operational drivers.
• Build and maintain commercial models and profitability reviews.
• Lead opex-to-capex transfers to meet AASB 116 criteria.
• Own the annual budget process and ongoing forecasting.
• Provide ad hoc accounting and finance support.

Join our QLD Environmental Services commercial finance team. In your day-to-day, you will prepare and review financial and management reports, working closely with operational and finance leaders, to deliver insights to improve performance and support strategic decision making.

What you'll be responsible for

• Preparation and delivery of financial and management reports working closely with operational business partners and the Finance Manager

• Financial analysis and variance reporting, with a focus on understanding the operational drivers behind performance

• Build and maintain commercial models and profitability reviews

• Lead the opex-to-capex transfers, ensuring all project costs, internal labour, and directly attributable expenses strictly meet AASB 116 Property, Plant and Equipment recognition criteria.

• Own the annual budget process and ongoing forecasting activities

• Ad hoc accounting and finance tasks

What you'll need to be successful

• Tertiary qualifications in Accounting/Finance, or equivalent and significant accounting experience

• Must be working towards completion of CA or CPA qualification (or qualified)

• Demonstrated experience within an accounting or financial analyst position with skills gained in a high volume and complex business

• Audit experience desirable

• Experience with SAP, TM1, Gsuite and MS office is an advantage

• Experience in logistics or waste industries would be beneficial but not essential
