Job summary

Ipswich Grammar School is seeking an Accountant to join our Accounts team. The role offers exposure to month-end and year-end reporting, budgeting, forecasting, reconciliations and management reporting in a leading independent school.

Working closely with the Director of Finance, you will contribute to financial management, reporting functions, and process improvements within a busy school environment in Ipswich, Australia.

Qualifications

• A qualification in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
• Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
• The ability to communicate effectively with a range of stakeholders.
• A proactive approach and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

• Assisting with month-end and year-end reporting processes.
• Preparing reconciliations and supporting schedules.
• Supporting budgeting and forecasting activities.
• Monitoring financial performance and investigating variances.
• Assisting with management reporting and financial analysis.
• Supporting external audit requirements.
• Maintaining the fixed asset register and capital expenditure reporting.
• Contributing to process improvements and finance projects.
