Rockmount is recruiting for a workshop-based role in Smithfield, NSW. Start as casual with a pathway to permanent employment, earning $34/hr with potential to $38/hr for experienced slitting/sheeting operators. The role runs Monday to Friday, 7:30am–4:00pm, with optional weekend overtime.

You will read job tickets, set up machines, measure widths, switch materials, and perform editing checks to minimise waste. Training provided.

Qualifications

• Attention to detail and reading tickets carefully.
• Good eyesight and ability to measure accurately.
• Confidence with measuring tools and precision work.
• Long-term commitment and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Read job tickets and follow customer specs.
• Set up machines by hand and measure slit widths accurately (as fine as 9mm).
• Handle job changes and switch between materials like foil and paper.
• Run editing checks to remove bad product and join good stock.
