Job summary

Primero is seeking a motivated QA/QC Electrician to work on a 2:1 FIFO roster across our current projects in East Perth, WA. You will perform visual and mechanical inspections, verify equipment against drawings, and conduct insulation resistance testing in line with design specifications.

Ideally you hold an Australian Certified Trade Certificate, WA A Grade Electrical Licence, CPR/LVR, First Aid, and a High Risk Work Licence, and you can pass pre-employment screening.

Qualifications

• Australian Certified Trade Certificate is required.
• WA A Grade Electrical Licence is mandatory.
• CPR/LVR certificate within 12 months of hire.
• Provide First Aid Certificate.
• Valid Driver's Licence C-Class.
• High Risk Work Licence (WP).
• Confined space entry certification.
• Working at Heights training.
• Able to pass pre-employment medical and drug/alcohol screen.

Responsibilities

• Visual & Mechanical Inspections as part of QA/QC.
• Verify equipment nameplates, ratings, and installation against drawings.
• Check torque values on electrical connections, busbars, and terminals.
• Inspect enclosures, IP ratings, cable tray layouts, and fire-stopping integrity.
• Earthing & Bonding Verification across frames and structures.
• Measure earth grid resistance and verify equipotential bonding continuity.
• Cable & Circuit Testing including continuity checks.
• Perform IR/Megger testing on cables, switchgear and motors.
• Fill out and sign pre-functional check sheets and test certificates.
• Classify and track punch list items for remediation before power-up.

Your Opportunity

Primero is seeking a motivated and experienced QA/QC Electricians to work on a 2:1 FIFO roster across our current projects.

What You 'Can Do'

• Have strong industrial construction working experience, at least 5 years
• Ability to complete steel conduit work, cable ladder and control panel terminations
• Ability to read electrical Drawings, P&IDs and ISO’s (required for heat tracing)
• Flexible work ethic and able to adapt to changing work environments, including nightshift for upcoming shutdowns
• Good communication skills and accuracy in record keeping.
• Excellent safety awareness and values

QA/QC Scope of Works

• Visual & Mechanical Inspections
• Verify equipment nameplates, ratings, and physical installation against design drawings and specifications.
• Check torque values on all electrical connections, busbars, and terminal blocks.
• Inspect enclosures, seals, IP ratings, cable tray layouts, and fire-stopping integrity.
• Earthing & Bonding Verification
• Measure earth grid resistance and confirm equipotential bonding continuity across frames, structures, and armor glands.
• Cable & Circuit Testing
• Perform continuity testing to verify correct core identification and zero-resistance paths.
• Conduct Insulation Resistance (IR / Megger) testing on low-voltage and high-voltage cables, switchgear, and motors.
• Documentation & Punch Listing
• Fill out, sign off, and compile pre-functional check (PFC) sheets and test certificates.
• Classify and track installation deficiencies (Type A, B, or C punch list items) for remediation before power-up.
