Job summary

Primero in Brisbane is seeking a Project Engineering Manager to lead our local engineering team. You will deliver hands-on design engineering expertise across a variety of minerals processing projects and report to the General Manager – Engineering in Perth.

You’ll manage resource planning, develop design processes, maintain client relationships, and ensure design products meet schedule, budget, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
• 15+ years' experience in minerals processing design.
• Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ).
• Experience managing a team of design professionals.
• Knowledge of multi-discipline design delivery and HSE practices.

Responsibilities

• Manning allocation, development and hiring of design resources with Discipline Managers.
• Continual development of design processes and procedures.
• Delegation of all projects of Project Design Managers.
• Maintenance and development of client relationships.
• Ensure design products meet schedule, budget, and regulatory requirements.

Project Engineering Manager

We are recruiting for a Project Engineering Manager to lead our Brisbane based engineering team. Reporting to the General Manager – Engineering who is based in Perth, you will be required to build and manage the team providing people management and the hands‑on technical design engineering expertise across a variety of projects.

Your Key Responsibilities

• Manning allocation, development and hiring of design resources in collaboration with the Discipline Managers.
• Continual development of design processes and procedures.
• Delegation of all projects of Project Design Managers.
• Maintenance and development of client relationships.
• Ensure compliance of design products with the design procedure.
• Ensure design managers are following established project plans and procedures.
• Ensure design products comply with applicable legislation, standards, client, third party and project requirements.
• Ensure designs are fit for purpose and consider all aspects including cost, constructability, operability and maintainability.
• Ensure design products are delivered in accordance with the project schedule and budget.

What You ‘Can Do’

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
• 15+ years' experience in minerals processing design.
• Demonstrated experience managing a team of Design professionals.
• Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ).
• Detailed understanding of multi-discipline design delivery within the minerals processing sector.
• Solid understanding of statutory and industry regulations and HSE practices.
• Knowledge and practical application of design theories, principles, and practices.
• Advanced level of expertise with engineering technical detail.
• Demonstrated planning and organisation skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Commitment to continued professional development.
• Strong work ethic.
