Job summary

John Holland Pty Ltd, in partnership with McConnell Dowell, is delivering the Kidston Pumped Storage project in Far North Queensland. The role supports commissioning and energisation by managing the Permit to Work system across field operations.

The position requires PTW expertise, risk assessment review, and effective coordination with supervisors, engineers, trades and subcontractors on a world-class energy storage project.

Qualifications

• Experience as Permit Officer or PTW in major construction or energy projects.
• Knowledge of LOTO principles, isolation and SIMOPS.
• Ability to review SWMS, risk assessments, drawings and permit documentation.
• Clear communication with supervisors, engineers, trades and subcontractors.

Responsibilities

• Review permit applications and supporting documentation.
• Prepare, issue, revalidate, suspend, cancel and close permits.
• Brief Permit Holders on work scopes and controls.
• Maintain permit, isolation, lock box and records.
• Complete workfront inspections before permit issue and handback.
• Monitor compliance with permit conditions and stop unsafe work.
• Participate in PTW audits and continuous improvement.
