Job summary

MAK Industrial Water Solutions is seeking a FIFO Operator for the Queensland field service team. The role operates on a 14 days on/14 days off roster, 12-hour days, supporting Rio Tinto Mine sites including Weipa QLD.

You will operate and maintain water treatment facilities and participate in maintenance tasks. The ideal candidate will hold a Certificate III/IV in Water Treatment, have a minimum of three years’ operational experience (RO/MBR), strong problem-solving skills, and be proficient

• Hold a Certificate III or IV in Water Treatment (essential).
• Minimum 3 years operational experience in water treatment (RO/MBR experience a must).
• Strong problem-solving capabilities; show initiative to manage issues independently.

Job description

MAK Industrial Water Solutions is a National Water and Waste Water Treatment Company . MAK Water designs and manufactures a wide range of water treatment plants, and supports its customers with a network of service teams across Australia including operating plants onsite at many different mine sites across Australia.

We are an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of water treatment plants, with a wide range of technologies, and a strong future order book for plants to be installed in Australia and overseas.

THE ROLE

MAK Water are currently looking for a FIFO Operator to join the QLD FM team. The role is working 14 days on, 14 days off roster, ex Brisbane to a Rio Tinto Mine site in Weipa QLD . The role is working 12 hours per day.

Reporting to the FM Manager, core duties include:

Operate and maintain the Water Treatment facilities

Carry out routine and reactive maintenance

Troubleshoot process issues

Maintain plant inventories, including assisting in the management of asset registers and life cycles

Prepare activity and work order reports

Communicate with site operations personnel

Assist with additional site requirement; eg pipe installation and repair fittings, upgrades etc

As this role is based on a QLD Rio Tinto Site, applicants who are currently inducted with Rio Tinto will be looked at favourable, but this is not essential.

SKILLS AND REQUIREMENTS

The successful candidate will be willing to learn and grow in an expanding company, taking on new challenges. You will also:

Hold a Certificate III or IV in Water Treatment (essential)

Have a valid Driver’s License

Essential to have a minimum of 3 years operational experience in water treatment ( Reverse Osmosis/ MBR experience a must)

Show strong problem-solving capabilities

Use initiative to manage unexpected issues independently

Demonstrate computer / iPad literacy

Communicate effectively, both verbal and written
