Job summary

Downhole Recruitment is offering a FIFO drilling entry role designed to kickstart a career in mining. You’ll join a focused crew, assist the driller with safe, efficient operations, and learn practical skills on site.

This role emphasizes long days in heat and tough conditions, with a clear progression path from offsider to trainee to driller, supported by nationally recognised Cert II/III in Drilling Operations and strong earning potential from the start.

Qualifications

• Australian citizen or permanent resident required.
• Manual C Class Licence required.
• Strong fitness and resilience.
• Safety-first attitude and ability to work remote, challenging conditions.
• Able to pass a pre-employment medical and Drug & Alcohol test.

Responsibilities

• Assisting the driller with safe, efficient drilling operations.
• Manual handling of rods, tools, sample bags, core trays / core samples.
• Cleaning, greasing, maintaining equipment and keeping the rig area tidy.
• Loading/unloading gear and supporting rig moves / set-up and pack-down.
• Completing pre-start checks and following site safety systems and paperwork.
• Working as part of a crew where reliability and teamwork matter every day.
