Job summary

KFI invites experienced Drill Fitters to join our Rockhampton-based team, with FIFO opportunities available for candidates in the Rockhampton region. You will maintain, diagnose and repair underground mining equipment to keep it safe, reliable and available for operation.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification as Diesel Fitter/Heavy Duty Mechanic.
• Experience on mine sites.
• Experience maintaining and repairing underground mining equipment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct diagnostics and inspections on diesel engines and related systems.
• Repair and maintenance on fuel, cooling, exhaust and electrical systems.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
• Complete routine and preventative maintenance.
• Maintain accurate records of completed work.
• Prioritise safety and maintain an organised workspace.

The Opportunity

We're seeking experienced Drill Fitters to join our team, with FIFO opportunities available for candidates based in Rockhampton.

You will be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing and repairing underground mining equipment while helping ensure equipment remains safe, reliable and available for operation.

What You'll Do

• Conduct diagnostics and inspections on diesel engines and related systems.
• Perform repairs and maintenance on fuel, cooling, exhaust and electrical systems.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults.
• Complete routine and preventative maintenance.
• Maintain accurate records of completed work.
• Prioritise safety and maintain an organised and efficient workspace.

What We're Looking For

• Trade qualification as a Diesel Fitter / Heavy Duty Mechanic.
• Previous experience on mine sites.
• Experience maintaining and repairing underground mining equipment.
• Strong diagnostics and fault-finding skills.
• Commitment to safe, high-quality and reliable work.
• Proactive approach to problem-solving and teamwork.
• Willingness to undergo a Pre-Employment Medical upon hire.
