Job summary

Coffey Testing is seeking experienced FIFO Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Technicians to join our Coffey Testing FIFO Brisbane Team. Roles are based on a 2:1 roster; you will work on testing soils, aggregates and concrete both in the field and laboratory across remote sites.

Ideal candidates will have experience with AS standards, NATA ISO/IEC 17025 requirements, a current manual driver's license, and be able to pass medical, drug and alcohol screening.

Qualifications

• Experience in laboratory and field testing of soils, aggregates and/or concrete to AS standards.
• Understanding of NATA ISO/IEC 17025 requirements and AS1289/AS1141/AS1012 as applicable.
• NDM Radiation license is highly advantageous; a current manual driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Undertake field testing and sample preparation for soils, aggregates and concrete.
• Coordinate with site on testing schedules, procedures and results to ensure timely outputs.
• Perform routine QA checks and calibrations on equipment and ensure data accuracy.
• Commit to a 2:1 roster and maintain safety and quality standards on site.

Coffey Testing is currently seeking experienced and motivated FIFO Construction Materials Testing (CMT) Technicians to join our Coffey Testing FIFO Brisbane Team.

The Opportunities

We have multiple FIFO roles for suitable qualified and experienced CMTs based out of Brisbane. These FIFO roles are North of Cloncurry QLD and will run for approximately 2 years. The successful applicants would be required to commit to a 2:1 roster.
These roles will involve:

• Undertaking a variety of manual tasks in the field, including preparing and testing soil, aggregates & concrete samples;
• Liaising with Coffey Testing’s client onsite on testing schedules, procedures and results, representing the Coffey Testing brand;

Ensuring testing is performed in accordance with industry standards (AS1289, AS1141, AS1012);

• Undertaking routine quality assurance checks and calibrations, ensuring all equipment is maintained; and
• Ensuring accuracy of test results and timely output of work.

About you

The ideal candidate will have experience in soil and concrete testing, and will demonstrate some or all of the following criteria:

• Has demonstrated experience in laboratory and field testing in soils, aggregates and/or concrete to relevant standards (AS1289, AS1141, AS1012);
• Has an understanding of NATA ISO/IEC 17025 requirements;
• NATA approved Signatory;
• Ideally holds a current NDM Radiation license (highly advantageous);
• Holds a current manual driver's licence (required);
• Demonstrates an unwavering commitment to quality assurance and workplace safety and;
• Is physically fit and able to perform a manual labour-intensive role which includes heavy lifting.
• Can commit to an ongoing 2:1 roster for up to a 2 year period (temporary full-time position)

The successful applicant will undergo the appropriate medical assessment including a drug & alcohol screen as part of our recruitment process.
