Job summary

ISS Integrated Serv P/L is seeking an experienced Chef for remote mining village operations in Central Queensland. The role follows a 9 days on/5 days off or 2 weeks on/1 week off roster, reporting to the Head Chef/Village Manager.

You will deliver nutritious, high-quality meals and maintain dining standards for residents. Requirements include 2–3 years as a chef, Australian Certificate III in Commercial Cookery, Food Safety Certification, and ability to work under pressure.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years professional chef experience.
• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery recognised in Australia.
• Food Safety Certificate or willingness to obtain.
• FIFO experience in high-volume kitchen environment desirable.
• Pass a full Pre-Employment Medical and Drug & Alcohol Screen.
• Current Coal Board Medical and Standard 11 desirable.
• National Police Clearance within last 12 months.
• Full working rights in Australia.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook high-quality meals consistently and efficiently.
• Support kitchen team to maintain food safety, hygiene, and WHS standards.
• Assist with stock management, ordering and kitchen operations.
• Collaborate with Head Chef on menu execution and service improvements.
• Mentor junior kitchen staff and contribute to a positive team environment.
