Job summary

Vertex Workforce is seeking a Field Technician – Telecommunications Site Surveys (NSW) to join our expanding team. This field-based role involves pre-construction site surveys for broadband infrastructure projects, working alongside an experienced contractor across NSW.

You will walk sites, record measurements, photos, and contribute to survey data used for construction designs. FIFO/DIDO travel, outdoor work, and a reliable, observant nature are essential.

Qualifications

• Field-based role requiring outdoor surveys and measurements.
• Must have White Card and a current driver’s licence.
• Willingness to obtain National Police Check or equivalent.

Field Technician – Telecommunications Site Surveys (NSW, FIFO/DIDO)

You’ll work alongside an experienced telecommunications contractor on pre-construction site surveys for broadband infrastructure projects. This is a field-based role, not heavy labour. It suits someone who is observant, reliable and comfortable working outdoors.

Key responsibilities

• Walk project sites and assess underground and telecommunications infrastructure
• Record site information, measurements and photos
• Help prepare the survey data used to produce construction designs

About you

• White Card (General Construction Induction)
• Current driver’s licence
• National Police Check, or willingness to obtain one
• Comfortable with FIFO/DIDO travel and shared accommodation during the week
• Reliable, punctual and able to follow instructions
• Telecommunications, civil or surveying experience is a bonus but not essential
• Rates $38–$45 per hour
• Food and shared accommodation (Airbnb-style houses) included
• Ongoing work, with the chance to join a regular crew for future projects
• Uniform and PPE supplied
