Job summary

BreatheSafe are seeking two Field Technicians for 12-month temporary roles to support installation and servicing on mining and earthmoving equipment. You will travel to customer sites, work hands-on with filtration systems, and maintain detailed records while upholding safety standards.

Ideal candidates are mechanically minded with a trade background, hold a manual licence, and can adapt to a mobile, on-site role with travel and overtime as required.

Qualifications

• Mechanical trade background preferred.
• Manual driver’s licence required.
• Police clearance and pre-employment medical (D&A) clearance.
• Strong attention to detail and safety.
• Own toolkit (tools to be provided/replaced as needed).
• Solid communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Travel to customer sites to install kits and replace filters per specifications.
• Deliver field-based installation work safely and on time.
• Use hand tools and machinery to install filtration systems and mount equipment.
• Conduct audits, servicing and repairs across various sites.
• Maintain installation and service records with photos and reports.
• Identify issues and support continuous improvement.
• Provide technical guidance to customers on use and maintenance.
• Build strong relationships through professional communication.
• Follow WHS guidelines and site procedures and participate in safety training.

Job description

BreatheSafe are a proud Australian company that strives to develop, manufacture and sell world leading dust control and air quality solutions to industries exposed to dust or airborne contaminants, both locally and internationally. With a number of critical projects being rolled out across the business over the next 12 months, we are looking for two Field Technicians to join our team on a temporary basis to support their successful delivery.

About the role:

These 12 month temporary positions will support the rollout of a number of critical projects across the business. The successful candidates will travel to customer sites to carry out installation,servicing and technical work on mining and earthmoving machinery. If you're mechanically minded and enjoy working on site with large equipment, these roles offer a great mix of hands on work, travel and project variety.

Key Responsibilities:

• Travel to customer sites to remove and replace filters and install kits in accordance with supplied specifications and site requirements.
• Support the delivery of critical projects across the business, completing field-based installation work safely, accurately and within agreed project timeframes.
• Use a variety of hand tools and machinery to install filtration systems, including wiring, cab sealing with silicone, and mounting equipment.
• Conduct audits, servicing, and repairs across various site locations.
• Maintain detailed installation and service records, including photographs and written reports.
• Identify and report any issues or discrepancies to support continuous improvement.
• Provide technical assistance, guiding customers on proper use and maintenance.
• Build and maintain strong relationships through effective communication and professionalism.
• Follow all Work Health and Safety (WHS) Act guidelines, company policies, and site procedures.
• Participate in safety training and meetings as required.

BreatheSafe Hours of Work:

When working on-site:

• Hours will vary to suit each site’s schedule
• Flexibility required: This role is a mobile based technician with opportunities for overtime and travel will be necessary to meet business needs.

Carole Park facility:

On the occasion you are working locally at our Carole Park facility hours are:

• Monday to Thursday: 5:30am – 2:45pm
• Friday: 5:30am – 11:30am
• Enjoy a 9-day fortnight (every second Friday off)

About you:

You’re a mechanically minded problem-solver with hands-on experience – in air conditioning, fitting & turning, or a similar mechanical trade. You thrive in a dynamic environment and are comfortable working independently.

Requirements:

• Mechanical Trade Certificate (preferred)
• Manual Driver’s Licence
• Police clearance and ability to pass a pre-employment medical (inclusive of D&A)
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety & quality
• Your own toolkit (we’ll repair or replace damaged tools)
• Solid communication and customer service skills
• Enthusiasm, reliability, and a proactive attitude
• Ability to be flexible in an ever changing environment

Preferred but not essential:

• Working at Heights Ticket
• Automotive Airconditioning licence (ARC)
